One of the most important things in this business of body work is to find reliable resources for clients, ones that you can trust and hopefully connect with. I mean, you plan on being able to guide clients that you are working for to these dependable resources. A really great way that Two Hands Birth Services was recently able to make that connection was to attend a meet and greet that was so graciously put together by Amanda Heritage of Nelson Chiropractic and Pilates Center. All the people and the services we were introduced to were all very different but in their own way go hand in hand with birth work. Working with expectant parents it’s always good to have local resources that we know and trust. Everyone we met at the meet and greet gave a brief but descriptive intro and then we got the chance to mingle (and imbibe a bit- which as we all know makes conversation flow a little easier;) ). I would gladly send any current or future clients to each and everyone of these professionals.
Nelson Chiropractic, which is where this diddy was held, is owned and operated by husband and wife duo Dr. Eric and Dr. Kerri Nelson. They have been operating since 1997 and have taken the time to stay informed/knowledgeable of up to date beneficial techniques. Both have backgrounds as Neurokinetic Therapy Instructors (NKT) while each bring sub-specialties respectively. Along with their own impressive backgrounds, Dr. Eric Nelson and Dr. Kerri Nelson have selected an amazing team to support their practice and take it to the next level. Dr David and Dr Kelli Velez are a power couple providing sports injury rehabilitation and Active Release Technique. Taking the time to talk to them it was evident they deeply care for their clients well being and aim to rejuvenate clients to their pre-injury state. The next to be added to this team is Dr. Amanda Heritage who herself was treated at Nelson Chiropractic and from this wonderful experience knew this is where her heart lived. Amanda is a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic health and rehabilitative Pilates.
Cecilia Grillo supports this skillful team with her background as a licensed physical therapist assistant who uses Pilates method for client rehabilitation. After warmly conversing with this team I know they have their clients best interest at heart and do their absolute best in treating issues.
Next, I introduced myself to Joanna Hunter who is the founder of Vita Nutrition Services. Joanna has a lovely bubbly personality that just exudes and I felt drawn to her. She has a warmth about her and the care that she has about health and wellness based on nutrition is supremely evident. She even brought snacks to boot!! (Who doesn’t love peanut butter chocolate chip balls?!?!?) At Vita Nutrition their main focus is nutrition and wellness--brought to you by food. All the Registered Dietitians are ready and willing to help with whatever your specialized eating and health habits needs are to get you the specialized care your need to live your best life. They have a Haddon Heights office and a newly opened Cherry Hill office!
The next glowing individual that I just couldn’t wait to chat up was Ray of Refuge Midwifery. She too just lights up a room with her warm and inviting smile! Ray is a down to earth, easy to talk to individual that has some great experience as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), Licensed Midwife (LM), and Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC). Ray recently relocated to this area to serve as a midwife to the South Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania area.
There were a lot of other professionals there and Jessica, founder of Two Hands Birth Services had the opportunity to chat with Kim Clements, a local acupuncture practitioner. Kim specializes in Traditional Chinese Medicine, 5 Element Acupuncture, along with yoga therapy, cupping and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. Kim is licensed in the state of NJ. She is a very calm presence to be around and I would definitely feel great about recommending her to any family.
Along with meeting new people, eating yummy goodies and a little wine we learned about so many services and resources in our area. The doulas of Two Hands Birth Services really enjoy these opportunities to connect with the community and educate ourselves so we can be more of service to the families we serve.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
